Fast casual, a feast in fusion

The dining landscape is reinventing itself. And the fast casual niche is leading the charge. This hybrid model marries the convenience of fast food with the quality of casual dining. At the heart of this evolution? A shift in consumer preferences.

Why fast casual is booming

Irresistible for the consumer, and a culinary playground for experimental chefs. Fast casual restaurants are not just places to eat. Chefs play with different cooking cuisines and traditions to create something extraordinary. Our Agristo chef had an inspirational mood and crafted dishes for fast casual, blending the familiar with the unexpected.

The Italian twist: pizza & potatoes

The rustic charm of Italian cuisine with the hearty essence of potatoes. Imagine a hand-stretched pizza dough, baked to perfection, topped with sun-ripened tomatoes, aromatic basil, and a generous layer of mozzarella. The twist? A crown of crispy, seasoned skin-on wedges, adding a satisfying crunch and a burst of flavor. On the side, sweet potato fries offer a sweet and savory note to this Italian escapade.

Mexican fiesta: Sidewinders® spice things up

A fiesta of Mexican flavors where Agristo’s patented Sidewinders® fries become the star of the show. These fries with a double twist are paired with grilled chicken, zesty lime cabbage slaw, and a drizzle of chipotle mayo. It’s a playful twist on the classic taco night, with the Sidewinders as an unexpected textural replacement, giving a modern edge to this beloved Mexican staple.

American comfort: loaded brisket

Dive into the heart of American comfort food with two dishes. First, the brisket loaded fries: a mountain of golden fries, topped with slow-cooked, tender brisket, smothered in a smoky BBQ sauce, and finished with a sprinkle of sharp cheddar and fresh chives. Then, the mini hash brown crunchies: these bite-sized delights are the perfect addition to any dish, offering a crispy, golden exterior and a fluffy interior, ready to be dipped in your sauce of choice or enjoyed on their own.

Fast casual is speeding up

Remarkable. For the first quarter in two years, the food service industry is facing a bit of a slump. However, the drop in visitors is slim, as some niches show promising, strong growth. Take fast casual, the hybrid form of fast food and casual dining, anticipated to keep rising at a considerable rate between 2023 and 2031. The global market size of fast casual concept was valued at around $169 billion in 2022. It is estimated to reach $407 billion by 2031, a staggering CAGR of 10.2% between 2023 and 2031. This growth is mainly thanks to changing consumer preferences: people cut back on the more pricy casual dining experiences, but still want healthy, natural and freshly prepared food.
