This moment makes our plans tangible. It reflects our confidence in the region, our long-term commitment to France, and our ambition to create value in close connection with local communities.
Laying the symbolic first brick of our future in France
Agristo has officially marked the laying of the first brick of its future production site in Escaudœuvres, Northern France. This symbolic moment confirms that the project has moved from planning into execution, with construction now actively underway on site.
A strategic step in Agristo's European growth
France is Agristo’s second-largest market, and the new site in Escaudœuvres plays a key role in the company’s long-term expansion strategy. Built on the former Tereos sugar factory site, the project combines industrial redevelopment with a clear focus on sustainable growth.
Once fully operational, the site will be Agristo’s second-largest production facility, with the intent of reaching an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of finished frozen potato products in the long term, as well as gradually creating up to 300 jobs.
From plans to progress on site
Since the feasibility study in 2023, the project has moved through several critical phases, including technical assessments, environmental permitting and regulatory approvals. With the operating permit secured in September 2025, construction activities are now fully underway.
Earthworks, deep foundations, concrete structures and site infrastructure are progressing, with the next phases focusing on the building envelope, technical installations and preparation for production lines. The industrial start-up is planned for the second half of 2027.
A symbolic highlight of this phase was the signing of a structural beam that will become part of the future dispatch building. This marks another visible step toward completion.
Designed with care for people and the environment
Sustainability and responsibility are integral to the project. By redeveloping an existing industrial site, Agristo contributes to responsible land use and avoids new land sealing. Throughout construction, strict measures are in place to limit noise, manage traffic flows and minimize disruption for nearby residents.
Open dialogue with local stakeholders remains a priority, with regular updates and dedicated contact channels to ensure transparency and responsiveness at every stage of the project.
