Chef’s Roast

Perfectly imperfect potatoes

Chef's roasts with roast beef and charred bimi, minted peas and Chantenay carrots
Some traditions are just too good to change. You can’t beat that Sunday roast. However, you can make it easier and faster to prepare, and still provide that authentic home-made look that people long for in good food. Discover how we reinvented an all-time classic: meet our Chef’s Roast.

Royally fluffy, we have kept our roast potatoes very moist, guaranteeing a pure potato, yet crunchy taste experience. Frozen, yes. Authentic-looking, most certainly. Generous pieces of potato are accompanied by oddball smaller chunks, requiring the same cooking time, to provide that home-made feel. Flash-fried in sunflower oil, chefs can still opt to bake and finish with the more traditional duck or beef fat.

Easy peasy? Potato!

  • Half the work, half the time

We have already taken care of the peeling. But that isn’t everything: where you’d normally take about 50 minutes in the oven to get your roast potatoes just right, our Chef’s Roast hits perfection after 20 minutes when they are fully defrosted.
  • Avoid waste

Another big advantage as you can skip some steps, is avoiding waste. No longer will you risk having an overcooked potato disintegrating into tiny bits in front of your eyes. Put all your potatoes to good use, it saves you on volume—and frustration.
  • Longer shelf life

By now we surely piqued your interest. To build on that, it does not hurt to point out the obvious. Frozen food has been proven to be more nutritious than fresh, and has a considerably longer shelf life.
  • Vegan, or not

Our Chef’s Roast potatoes are flash-fried in sunflower oil. You have the option to serve a vegan roast, or you could choose to bake it old school with duck or beef fat. Our products always aim to provide the solid base, leaving the signature finishing touches to the chef.

Create your perfect Chef’s Roast in 6 simple steps

01

First, make sure your Chef’s Roast potatoes are fully defrosted to reduce cooking time and optimize taste. When fully defrosted, shuffle and gently bash your bag to roughen up the potatoes and achieve better texture and even more crisp.

02

Use a rational oven at 250°C with 0% humidity. Preheat your goose/duck/beef fat or vegetable oil in the oven for 5 minutes.

03

Add your defrosted Chef’s Roast to the hot fat and gently toss. Then bake for 15 minutes.

04

Give them a good shake or stir with a spoon or spatula.

05

Then bake for another 5 minutes.

06

Take out of the oven and drain excess fat.
