Popularity of the air fryer has taken off. Making the transition from niche to mainstream cooking appliance, the air fryer is booming even more as people look to use cheaper and energy-saving tools. Many households already own and use an air fryer more than once a week, as products now often come with air-frying instructions.
Low energy, low fat
But the air fryer is most commonly used for cooking fries and potatoes. People not only see it as energy efficient way of cooking fries, they use it to make deep-fried food in a healthier way. Fries prepared in an air fryer contain less than half of the fat compared to fries made in the deep fryer. The other healthier alternative? The oven. However, a good air fryer will crisp a portion of fries in nearly half the time and half of the energy it would take them to bake in the oven.
